The 32nd home run of Big Papi’s farewell season puts the Red Sox back in front 10-8.

The Red Sox weathered the return of Bad Clay Buchholz Sunday afternoon, scoring 11 runs to earn a huge series win. After retiring the first two batters routinely, Sanchez walked Ortiz and gave up a deep fly ball from Mookie Betts. He survived one-out singles by Kevin Pillar and Travis.

Andrelton Simmons, who had hit only one home run all season, hit two solo homers for the Angels. The sizzling Seattle Mariners, who have won five straight, are only 3.5 games out, as are the Houston Astros.
Bradley hit a three-run homer in the top of the second, driving in Brock Holt and Sandy Leon. The Rays made a conscious decision to increase homer power this season and, as a result, rank seventh in Major League Baseball homers with 194; the Jays are third.
Happ (18-4) allowed four hits and one walk. Holt walked with two out and took third on an errant pickoff attempt.
“Just a dramatic home run once again from David (Ortiz) against (Joaquin) Benoit that a few years ago there was another memorable one”, Farrell added, referencing Ortiz’s grand slam off Benoit to tie Game 2 of the 2013 ALCS.

Toronto LHP Francisco Liriano (7-12, 5.27 ERA) will start Monday against Tampa Bay Rays RHP Jake Odorizzi (9-6, 3.86 ERA) at Rogers Centre with RHP R.A. Dickey being bypassed in the rotation.
