Trump takes lead over Clinton in Ohio

In an ever-tightening, increasingly negative presidential campaign, a new national poll by Quinnipiac University shows Democrat Hillary Clinton and Republican Donald Trump are virtually tied when third-party candidates are included in the race.

A widely circulated videotape showed Clinton stumbling as she attempted to enter a van after leaving a ceremony in lower Manhattan on the 15th anniversary of the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Trump had the strongest lead in South Carolina’s 7th Congressional District in this poll, leading Clinton 57 percent to 42 percent.

According to the poll, Trump received 39 percent while Clinton picked up 24 percent of support from likely voters surveyed.

In 2012, President Obama beat Republican nominee Mitt Romney in OH, 50.1 percent to 48.2 percent. Five more states, including MI and North Carolina are also up for grabs. Just 36% have a positive impression of Clinton vs. 41% who view Trump favorably.

On immigration, 49 percent of voters said that Trump’s plan to enforce the law and deport millions of illegal immigrants was a good idea, while only 45 percent said it was a bad idea.

Nearly the same number of voters said they were not happy that the Republican has not released his tax returns. Trump and Clinton are within the margin of error of 4.9 percent. About 53% see Trump as “strongly unfavorable” and 22% as “strongly favorable”. She tops the GOP nominee as more trusted on handling foreign policy and as better at handling the responsibilities of commander in chief.

Trump leads among white voters and men, while Clinton leads among non-white voters and women.

There are significant partisan differences in opinions, though, with seven in 10 (68 percent) Republicans saying Clinton’s health was below average or very poor, compared with 16 percent of Democrats. Clinton made her statement Friday that half of Trump’s supporters are from a “basket of deplorables” that includes racists, sexists, homophobes, xenophobes, Islamaphobes.

At the 9/11 event, Clinton was recorded collapsing while entering a Secret Service vehicle, which rushed her to daughter Chelsea Clinton’s apartment before it was disclosed that she had been diagnosed with pneumonia two days earlier. Heck beat out Cortez Masto 46 percent to 43 percent. Johnson earned support from 5 or 6 percent of voters in each state, while Stein didn’t earn more than 3 percent. Yet Trump has caught up to her level of support in several states.
