Hillary Clinton is “healthy and fit to serve as President of the United States”, according to medical records released Wednesday by her presidential campaign.
She “is recovering well with antibiotics and rest” after being laid low over the weekend, when she suffered from fatigue and a low-grade fever, although her vital signs remained normal, Bardack said.
Her physician, Lisa Bardack, provided details of the 68-year-old candidate’s treatment for a mild and non-contagious pneumonia diagnosed September 9 and revealed for the first time that she was evaluated one week earlier after experiencing a low-grade fever, congestion and fatigue.
Bardack said Clinton’s pneumonia was diagnosed after a chest scan on Friday and that she was prescribed a 10-day course of antibiotics.
At the same time, Clinton has criticized Donald Trump for releasing a letter from his doctor earlier past year, which contained virtually no objective health information. The pneumonia was described as a “mild non-contagious bacterial pneumonia”, for which Clinton was advised to rest and take antibiotics. According to Bardack, “the remainder of her complete physical exam was normal and she is in excellent mental condition”.
Trump, 70, knows he could stand to lose a few pounds but otherwise is in great health, campaign adviser Sarah Huckabee Sanders told MSNBC on Wednesday after the Republican nominee taped an episode of the “Dr. Oz Show” in NY that will air on Thursday. Earlier Wednesday, campaign manager Kellyanne Conway told Fox News the results of Trump’s exam would be shared publicly “this week”.
Questions have been raised about Clinton’s health dating back to 2013, when the Secretary of State fell, hit her head and developed what she said was a blood clot. Her campaign had been pressed to be more transparent about Clinton’s health, particularly after it failed to reveal her Friday pneumonia diagnosis until Sunday, when she almost collapsed as she left the Ground Zero site in NY.
“It’s fair to say the public now knows more about Hillary Clinton than almost anyone in public life”, Mook said in a statement.
The health episode fuelled long-simmering conservative conspiracy theories about Ms Clinton’s health and provided a fresh line of attack for rival Donald Trump, who has frequently questioned whether Ms Clinton has the stamina to serve as commander in chief. She underwent anticoagulation therapy to dissolve a blood clot and had to wear special glasses to correct double vision for almost two months starting in late 2012.

The US Republican presidential nominee was interviewed by Mehmet Oz on the “Dr Oz” show about the medical checks and his diet and exercise. “He continues to hide his taxes and business dealing behind fake excuses”. In addition to listing the results of tests the physician, Dr. Brian Monahan, pronounced him “in overall excellent health”.
