Trump discussed the series of failures that led to Flint’s water crisis creating undrinkable water and tied it to Clinton noting her failures.

Earlier, Trump toured the Flint water treatment facility for about 20 minutes. “Meanwhile, Donald Trump is focused on finding ways to prevent tragedies like this from happening again”, the state GOP leader said.

Critics say Trump paints an overly bleak picture of life in urban African-American communities, where crime has fallen and the life expectancy has risen in recent decades.

Trump tried to tie Flint’s long economic decline to trade deals supported by Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton and her husband, former President Bill Clinton, the News reports.

During brief prepared remarks in Flint, Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump was asked to drop the politics by a local pastor.

It’s the profits-over-people approach to government, preached by Donald Trump and practiced by Rick Snyder, that led to the poisoning of Flint’s water.

Trump appeared to be apologetic, quickly going back into discussing Flint and not mentioning Hillary Clinton for the remainder of his speech.

“Oh, OK”, Trump said.

The reverend said in a statement distributed to reporters that the visit “in no way” represented an endorsement of Trump’s candidacy. “And we’ll have nothing but more unemployment in Flint and Michigan”, Trump added.

“It’s unclear what Trump will see during the mid-day tour. After first refusing to even comment on Flint when the crisis broke – and doing nothing for Flint families since then – Trump now wants to fly into Flint for a photo-op”.

Clinton remained in her suburban NY home Wednesday as she continues to recover from pneumonia. It said she continues taking medication to control a previously known thyroid condition and blood clots.

Flint’s water crisis was preceded by E. coli detections; resident complaints about color, odor and taste; and high levels of a disinfectant byproduct. “He avoided the city and its people like the plague when the crisis was at its worst, but now he’s going to show up for a photo-op?”

Romney McDaniel said Trump has “proposals to prevent future tragedies like this from occurring”.

After the interruption, as a few audience members clapped, Trump turned back to Flint.

In the news conference before Trump’s arrival, Bieber challenged Trump to write a $10 million dollar check to assist in Flint’s recovery.

“We’ll get it fixed”, he said.
