“And now he wants to be your champion?”

President Obama speaks at a rally for Clinton Tuesday at Eakins Oval in Philadelphia.. But the timing was serendipitous, giving the surrogate-in-chief top billing in a key electoral battleground while Clinton recuperates at home.
“To just be grossly generalistic, you could put half of Trump’s supporters into what I call the basket of deplorables“. Though it is unclear how much Trump shared, it appears neither candidate has released detailed medical records.
“When I saw this in its full form and I saw the anger with which she said it”, Trump told the Fox News Channel early Monday, “I think it’s the single biggest mistake of the political season”.
“Can you imagine Ronald Reagan idolizing somebody like that?” And we haven’t even talked about Trump’s constant slurs and rudeness. “I’m not running this time, but I sure do get frustrated by the way this campaign is being covered”.
“The young people who are here, who all you’ve been seeing is just the nonsense that’s been on TV”, he said, “you maybe don’t remember all the work that she has had to do, and all the things she has had to overcome, and all the good that has happened because of her efforts”.
“Compare everything you know about me with my opponent”. You can debate a long time about which candidate tells more lies. First, he made public a laughable letter from his doctor – idiosyncratically addressed “To Whom My Concern” – that echoed Trumpian grandiosity with the assessment that the Donald would be “the healthiest individual ever elected to the presidency”.
Trump has refused to release his tax returns, which would let the nation see if he really is as rich as he says, if he is as generous as he says or if he pays the same tax rate as everyday Americans.
President Obama’s former adviser David Axelrod took to Twitter to accuse the campaign of not being transparent.
“I have to do business with Putin … but I don’t go around saying ‘that’s my role model, ‘” he said derisively. I’m not going to ignore it, I’m not going to allow it to fester.
Clinton has tied herself closely to Obama, whom she served as secretary of state, and gives him credit in almost every speech for pulling the country out of the “ditch” of the Great Recession at the start of his tenure. “Sometimes folks are kind of surprised by that because they remember, man, you guys had a tough fight eight years ago”.
“I was like going up the “Rocky” steps, I was about to celebrate, and there she was – right there”. Donald Trump was scheduled to come to those same suburbs Tuesday night for a speech on childcare aimed at winning over women.
Her campaign had been pressed to be more transparent about Clinton’s health, particularly after it failed to reveal her Friday pneumonia diagnosis until Sunday, when she almost collapsed as she left the Ground Zero site in NY.

Democratic strategist Scott Ferson, who was on a campaign team that swiftly disclosed the hospitalization of U.S. Rep. Stephen Lynch when he was hospitalized for complications from surgery during his first Congressional campaign, also knocked the secrecy.
