Former WWE wrestler CM Punk throttled by Mickey Gall in UFC debut

CM Punk didn’t leave the WWE on good terms, and once he was gone, he held nothing back against them. Gall quickly worked his way into side control, transitioned into mount and after delivering a number of hard punches, he was able to work the position and finally apply the rear-naked choke to end Punk’s UFC debut. Pinned up against the octagon’s cage, he was unable to get out from under Gall, who landed numerous blows to both sides of Punk’s head.

No one should be surprised that Punk was paid nearly as much as the main event fighters.

“This was the most fun I’ve had in my life, the second best night of my life after marrying my wife”.

Punk – real name Phil Brooks – was swarmed on nearly immediately by Brazilian Ji-Jitsu brown belt Gall, who had a competitive record of 2-0 heading into the fight at the Quicken Loans Arena in Cleveland, Ohio. I think that’s a possibility. When asked his thoughts on his fellow fighter’s loss, Conor poked fun at CM Punk for getting his ‘a** whooped.’ Watch the amusing video of Conor right here!

Gall also talked about the experience of being part of such a big event, the potential Sage Northcutt fight on the horizon (which Gall says would happen at 170lbs), and of course, the build up to and the CM Punk fight itself.

It is unknown whether Punk will fight again in the UFC.

Following CM Punk’s debut and subsequent loss at UFC 203 Saturday night, UFC President Dana White had some doubting words about Punk’s value to the company as well as his future within the Octagon.

Almost two years after signing with the UFC, CM Punk finally made his debut on Saturday night (Sept. 10) at UFC 203. and suffered a lopsided loss. “I got a little taste of it and I really like it”.

“It doesn’t matter how many times you get knocked down, it’s about getting back up”. “I wanted to shut him down, turn the mother board off”. It doesn’t mean I’m going anywhere.
