According to The Daily Caller, hackers are thought to have provided DC Leaks with some 30,000 of Powell’s emails.
The email was written in July 2014 after the New York Post reported: ” Bill Clinton reportedly has a buxom blonde mistress who visits so often when Hillary Clinton isn’t home in Chappaqua that the former president’s Secret Service detail have given her an unofficial code name: Energizer”. “Real question is how he got that far in the Army”, Powell wrote.
The colorful email was sent June 17, 2016 and was later leaked through a password-protected page on DCLeaks.com, a website that House lawmakers fear is linked to the same Russian hackers taunting Hillary Clinton’s White House bid. The messages run from March 2015 through last month.
Clinton sought Powell’s advice on how to use private email at the State Department during a dinner in 2009, and Powell has said she tried to “pin” her scandal on him.
In some of his more damning remarks about Clinton, Powell calls her “greedy” and says, “Everything HRC touches she kind of screws up with hubris”, though he voices “respect” even as he expresses disdain.
However, Powell did write Clinton an email memo “describing his use of his personal AOL email account for unclassified messages and how it vastly improved communications within the State Department”, according to an early statement by Powell’s office. “When Trump couldn’t keep that up he said he also wanted to see if the certificate noted that he was a Muslim”, Powell wrote.
Powell was once discussed as a possible Republican Presidential candidate, but eliminated himself because his longtime wife suffers from bipolar disorder, and has, in the distant past, been hospitalized for Schizophrenia.
The former US Secretary of State mocked the Clintons in emails to private equity financier Jeffrey Leeds.
“I told you about the gig I lost at a University because she so overcharged them they came under heat and couldn’t any fees for awhile [sic]”, he wrote.

While partying at a ritzy Hamptons gala in August, Powell denied he was the inspiration for Clinton’s controversial server and told reporters the Clinton camp was trying to blame him for her technology woes.
