Obama defends Clinton as ‘steady and true’ at rally

“Of course not.” Journalists have long “attacked Hillary Clinton for being evasive and avoiding hard questioning”, he said, “and then the second Clinton is forthright and says something revealing”, they attack her for “simply for having said it”.

“While my opponent slanders you as deplorable and irredeemable, I call you hardworking American patriots”, Trump declared at a Clive, Iowa, rally.

Speaking to CNN after the disclosure, the Democratic nominee said on Monday that she had not considered the pneumonia was going to be “that big a deal” and had instead wanted to continue on with her campaign.

But Mr Trump clearly believes the debate over the “deplorables” comment works to his advantage.

The GOP nominee and his campaign said Clinton’s comment plays into the idea that she is a sheltered elitist, who sees herself as better than regular people and above the law.

Clinton was not present at the rally, which was held in Philadelphia.

Trump has repeatedly said that he expects to maintain good relations with Russian Federation and President Putin if elected to become the next United States president.

Obama scolded the news media for applying “unfair” scrutiny to Clinton while grading Trump “on a curve”.

“Trump would be wise to take advantage of it”, Williams said of Clinton’s comment, “but he can not miss an opportunity to criticize people like David Duke who support his candidacy”.

Controversy over the remark came at a bad time for Clinton, who was forced to cancel a West Coast swing due to a bout of pneumonia that she kept secret until she almost collapsed after a ceremony in NY on Sunday marking the September 11, 2001, attacks.

Clinton has been under fire recently for saying that half of Trump’s supporters fit into a “basket of deplorables”.

With Clinton off the trail for two days, Obama was part of a high-powered surrogate lineup that also included her daughter Chelsea Clinton, running mate Tim Kaine, his wife Anne Holton, former president Bill Clinton and first lady Michelle Obama. One candidate’s family foundation has saved countless lives around the world.

‘You can not run for president if you have such contempt in your heart for the American voter, ‘ he said.

The race there could come down to whether the Obama coalition, young, black and Hispanic voters, turn out to vote. Obama recently returned from 10 days overseas in Asia and will attend a United Nations meeting next week, leaving him just six weeks of full-throttle campaigning for Clinton.

“Every time I thought I had that race won, I was like going up the “Rocky” steps”. I was about to celebrate, and then I looked. Obama will speak at a plaza in front of the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

Clinton has tied herself closely to Obama, whom she served as secretary of state, and gives him credit in almost every speech for pulling the country out of the “ditch” of the Great Recession at the start of his tenure.
