How pastor interrupted Donald Trump’s attack on Hillary Clinton

Prior to Trump’s appearance, Timmons provided a statement saying that her church welcomes “all people”.

Donald Trump’s speech was stopped after a pastor hosting the event reminded Trump to stay on topic.

“Flint is focused on fixing the problems caused by lead contamination of our drinking water, not photo ops”, said Weaver, who supports Trump’s opponent, Hillary Clinton.

The visit to Flint, where most residents are African-American, comes as Trump has increased his outreach to minorities, arguing that Democratic policies have left inner cities impoverished and risky.

“Hillary failed on the economy”.

As a matter of record, Hillary has never set US economic or foreign policy, but she was the Secretary of State under President Obama. Everything she touched didn’t work out, nothing. According to CNN, Trump had been ready to attack Clinton for supporting free trade agreements, which Trump blamed for the economic distress in Flint.

The awkward moment was just one of several uncomfortable ones during Trump’s visit to the majority African-American city of Flint on Wednesday, which marked Trump’s latest effort to appeal to black voters, CNN added. While Trump denied the heckler’s charge, Timmons again interrupted him – only this time it was to defend him.

“He is a guest of my church and you will respect him”, admonished Timmons.

Donald had a much better rapport with the employees – and especially the managers – at Flint’s water treatment plant, which he toured for 15 minutes before heading to the church. This visit to Flint by Trump was also important in his quest to gain ground in the Midwest, says KVAL.

For his part, Trump has not spoken directly about the toxic water in Flint and declined to comment on the matter when the crisis first gained national attention in January.

Trump quickly got the message as he returned to addressing the issue of Flint’s water supply. “They’ve got a very hard problem”, he said at the time. With recent polls showing Trump losing in MI, there is no doubt the Republican candidate had hoped for a more positive outcome.
