Joe Manganiello Confirmed as Batman Villain Deathstroke

Deathstroke will be played by True Blood and Magic Mike star Joe Manganiello (who retweeted Affleck’s video last week).

We don’t know much about Ben Affleck’s Batman movie, not even the official title or a release window.

DC Entertainment president and chief creative officer Geoff Johns confirmed the casting to the Wall Street Journal in an article published Thursday.

The now untitled Batman movie doesn’t have a title or release date just yet, but it’s thought that it will be released either on October 5th, 2018 or November 1st, 2019.

Affleck was introduced as the new Batman in this year’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Turns out fans who guessed Joe Manganiello were spot on.

While Johns confirmed quite a bit about Deathstroke and the Batman movie he’ll appear in, he stopped short of revealing whether audiences would get their first look at Manganiello as the character in the Justice League movie. Although he previously starred in a superhero movie namely the “Spider-Man” films that starred Tobey Maguire as the web-slinging hero.

The current plan for that film is to have Affleck co-write with Geoff Johns and direct, with a completed script possibly taking the release date spot of either October 5 2018 or November 1 2019. The mercenary has a history of menacing the Teen Titans, amd he has tangled with Batman as a member of Lex Luthor’s Secret Society of Super Villains and in various other story lines.
