‘American Horror Story’ Season 6 Premiere Recap
It seems like this will be the setting for this season as the show will jump from modern time to the past.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock, you know that FX chose to keep this year’s theme under wraps – and keep the mystery going all the way up to minute one of the season premiere. Hit us up onTwitter,Facebook, orInstagram, or leave your comments below. She spoke of the “successful attempt” of banishing the spirits of the Roanoke colony who had died soon after arriving in the New World.
The theme is still being kept under wraps, but rumors are rife that based on the alleged leaked photos shared by TMZ, the storyline may involve a 16th-century farm with “Croatoan” carved into a tree which may point to the myth of Roanoke. Think back to your middle school social studies class: English settlers established a colony on Roanoke Island, off the coast of North Carolina, in 1587.
This year’s sub-title is My Roanoke Nightmare and seems to take the form of a mockumentary style show which is a big move away from the normal format. Because going back and forth between two different sets of actors is tiring. So props to Murphy & Co. on that, and figuring out a way to truly surprise us, even six seasons in.
This fits in pretty well with that whole Roanoke thing. The slow ratcheting-up of the danger faced by Matt and Shelby is something outside of any “theme” and more important than the casting news that has in recent years been the show’s main claim to press.
After the show aired, American Horror Story shared another teaser clip to give us a few more clues about what to expect from the season.
Throughout the summer, 25 short teaser trailers came out to promote the new season.
Here’s what we have to choose from: the children of the corn, the Texas Chainsaw pitchfork, the disembodied hands, the swamp monster attacking a lady from the ’50s, the spider lady and the rock monster from the mist.
One rumor, though, turned out to be true.
While past seasons of AHS have announced the general theme ahead of the premiere – and targeted their advertising to said theme – this time around, the creators have been intentionally obtuse, especially in their promos. What if, rather than telling one story across one season, the new season takes a page out of the “Tales From the Crypt” playbook and tells 13 individual stories?
Soooo, Lady Gaga is the Rock M-m-m-onster, maybe? Besides Gaga, the sixth instalment will have Kathy Bates, Denis O’Hare, Sarah Paulson, Angela Bassett, Finn Wittrock, Cheyenne Jackson, Wes Bentley and Matt Bomer.
The season will NOT be Charles Manson-themed.. She tells Matt that they were devil worshippers that wanted to conduct a human sacrifice.
You can look me right in the eye. “You are wrong, dead wrong”, Paulson declared.
OK, fine, we can cross that theory off.
