Elvis Andrus after the game said, “we don’t really give up until the last out and last pitch”. We don’t give up until the last out.

Profar followed with a base hit into left field, helping AL West-leading Texas improve to 15-3 against Houston this year. “He got a curveball up that he can drive”. “We keep fighting and we finished tonight’s game a lot better obviously”. I’ll take Houston at home with the plus money. The first batter Holland faced, George Springer, hit a towering leadoff homer to left field to quickly erase the Rangers’ 1-0 lead.

From one knee, Adrian Beltre cleared the Crawford Boxes. Bregman was 1-for-3 with a double prior to exiting the game.

Reliever-wise, Jake Diekman has 12 strikeouts and one hit allowed in 7⅓ innings, with two saves and six holds in 10 appearances.

Houston ends its season on the road with a three-game series against the Rangers (Sept. 25-27) and a four-game series vs. the Boston Red Sox. He was set to piggyback right-hander A.J. Griffin on Tuesday night, but Griffin pitched exceptionally while working seven strong innings against the Astros. “We are going to go day to day and see if we can increase any type of activity, but his target date is a little gray area than anything else”, Hinch said. As he made the catch, Andrus appeared to trip on the top of the mound and fell, but hung on to the ball. Andrus double-pumped and then fired to first as Altuve had issues getting his footing back and was tagged out. Derek Holland, who was not needed in relief Tuesday after A.J. Griffin went seven innings, took over the start. Holland instead will replace right-hander Yu Darvish, who will slot behind lefty Cole Hamels this weekend against the Athletics. He settled for a no-decision on August 7 after allowing one run and five hits in seven innings but suffered the loss on September 3, when he was hammered for five runs and eight hits in 4 1/3 frames.
