After Syndergaard departed, the Mets took a 4-3 lead when Flores stroked his 12th homer, but Robles allowed the game-tying homer to Jones in the bottom of the inning.

Carlos Torres faced only one batter in the ninth inning Wednesday night and soon was exiting the mound as the Orioles celebrated a walk-off victory.
Noah Syndergaard, who escaped a bases-loaded jam in the first inning, gave up one run in the fourth. That gave the Orioles a split of the two-game series and their fifth win in six games.

Wednesday night brought frustrations to the New York Mets. The dominating pitcher at Citi Field, who is 7-1 with a 1.82 at home, disappears when he leaves Queens.
Baltimore closer Zach Britton (4-0) earned the win with a scoreless ninth. “A lot of people have been concerned about my performances on the road”. In his 17 previous starts, Syndergaard had pitched the sixth 13 times, he has allowed nine runs and four home runs in those. But O’Day induced a ground out to first from Juan Uribe and struck out Travis d’Arnaud to end the inning.
The Orioles allowed the Mets (65-55) to take the lead again in the top of the seventh on Wilmer Flores’ solo homer in the seventh inning off rookie reliever Mychal Givens. However, he avoided any damage by striking out first baseman Chris Davis and then getting Schoop to hit into a 4-3 double play.
Still Syndergaard got into early trouble with Manny Machado smashing a first-pitch, 96-mile an hour fastball for a leadoff double.
In his third at-bat with the Orioles trailing 3-1 in the sixth and Davis on second after a leadoff double, he swung through two more curveballs before turning on a Syndergaard curve that cut across the inner half of the plate, sending it into the left-field seats to tie the game.
New York made it 2-0 in the fourth when Jimenez issued three walks and Flores delivered a two-out RBI single. Then he surrendered a single to Steve Clevenger before departing with none out in the frame.
“I thought he threw the ball good”.
On the curveball to Schoop, Syndergaard said the pitch was the sharpest it has been all season, with the exception of that one hanger. “I thought he threw the ball very, very well, stayed in there and battled like we expected him to”.
Orioles starter Ubaldo Jimenez lasted just five innings, his pitch count inflated by deep counts that resulted in four walks. He ultimately will need a rehab assignment before returning to Baltimore’s bullpen….
