Kiev’s Olympic Stadium to host 2018 Champions League final
It will be the first time Kiev has hosted a major European final at club level, although the ground was the location for the final of the 2012 UEFA European Championship held in Poland and Ukraine.

UEFA also decided that the Super Cup between the Champions League and Europa League winners will be on August 14, 2018 in the Lillekula stadium in Tallinn, which has a capacity around 10,000.
The final will be held only a few weeks before rival Russian Federation stages the World Cup.
The stadium was the venue for the Euro 2012 final where Spain beat Italy 4-0. “This is great news for all of us, and especially for the Ukrainian fans”, Poroshenko wrote on his Facebook page.
“The historical decision for the Ukrainian football was taken in Athens”, supersport.com quoted Pavelko as saying on the website.
The 68,000 capacity multi-sport stadium was chosen as the venue for the 2018 Champions League showpiece match following a meeting of UEFA executives on Thursday.
“This is an incredible event that will take its place in the history of the country”.
UEFA also announced that current Acting Secretary General Theodore Theodoridis will take the job on a permanent basis.

Theodoridis took over the post on an interim basis after Gianni Infantino left to become Federation Internationale de Football Association president in February.
