UAE carriers ban use of Samsung Galaxy Note 7
“We are advising that you power down your Note 7 and exchange it now… because your safety is our top priority”, the company said on its website on Saturday. This happened after the recall and there could be many more people still using the Galaxy Note with the battery issue, so the company recently asked users to stop using the Galaxy Note 7.

“We are expediting replacement devices so that they can be provided through the exchange program as conveniently as possible and in compliance with related regulations”, the statement added.
The world’s largest smartphone maker is scrambling to recall as numerous devices as possible following more reports of the phones catching fire.
“We were also told that every recalled phone will be remotely deactivated after September 30th”. Late Friday, the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission urged owners of the phone to turn them off and leave them off.
Some analysts say the recall could cost Samsung almost US$5 billion in revenue, after accounting for expenses from the recall process.
Taiwan’s two biggest airlines China Airlines and EVA Airways have advised passengers not to charge phones or store them in checked baggage.
The use of Samsung Galaxy Note 7 smartphones has been banned onboard national airlines in the UAE, the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has said.
America’s aviation regulator – the Federal Aviation Administration – issued its warning against the Note 7 on Thursday, with m any airlines, including Australia’s Qantas, immediately enforcing its advice.
This programme is in response to the recent announcement regarding isolated battery cell issue of the Galaxy Note7 device.
For Samsung the scale of the recall is expected to be unprecedented.
The cascade of negative headlines has deepened investors’ worries about how badly the Note 7 debacle could hurt Samsung’s reputation.
Samsung has faced a tough battle to regain ground to Apple following the success of the iPhone 6 range and the emergence of high-spec mid-priced competitors.

The Chinese company is set to become the sole battery supplier for the world’s largest smartphone maker by shipments for the time being since the company stopped receiving batteries from its main provider and hasn’t found a third supplier.
