Gaga revealed that she named the album after her father Joe Germanotta’s sister, Joanne Germanotta, who tragically died from lupus at 19. There are now 12 songs on the album’s track list, but Gaga said that might be cut to 11 songs and 14 songs on the deluxe version. One of Gaga’s middle names is Joanne and her dad, Joe Germanotta, named his NY restaurant Joanne Trattoria after his late sister.

She also revealed that Joanne’s handwriting is featured on the album’s back cover, with its packaging containing family mementos.

“I started to work on an idea for a song that I really wanted to do with a girl”, said Gaga.

“Perfect Illusion” music video was directed by her friend Ruth Hogben and it will premiere on VEVO “soon”.

She also hinted at a Bollywood-referencing song with a sitar, and a song titled Ayo, a DJ tribute.
