Guardiola pleads for City fans to embrace Champions League
Pep Guardiola says Sergio Aguero is a “special” player after his hat-trick in Manchester City’s win over Borussia Monchengladbach.

The Argentina striker doubled the home side’s lead in the 28th minute and completed his hat-trick in the 77th minute, while Kelechi Iheanacho made it 4-0 in stoppage time.
He added: “I think this shows I was not born to score – Kun (Aguero) did it much better than me!” He is a special player.
With 20,000 empty seats at the ground and those fans that were there booing the Uefa Champions League anthem, as has become customary, Guardiola appeared unimpressed.
“They must forget what happened in the past”, Guardiola said.
‘We need their support, we need all the stadium full to compete against the best teams in Europe’.
With his former club Barcelona, as well as Celtic, lying in wait in Group C, Guardiola had warned his players that a strong start in the competition was imperative.
Guardiola did not go into specifics on Silva’s injury, which he does not think is serious but could rule the Spain global out of Saturday’s Premier League match with Bournemouth.
City reached the semifinals a year ago before losing out to Real Madrid but they struggled in the Champions League in the previous four seasons, failing to get beyond the round of 16.
“Today was the most important game in the season”.
The Blues boss also reserved praise for debutant Ilkay Gundogan, who starred following a lengthy absence through injury.
Man City have graciously agreed to offer refunds to all 17 of their fans that had planned to attend the Etihad on Tuesday night.
Schubert said: “We’ve not been very happy the last two, three days”.
“I never won before against this coach and he always creates a lot of problems for my team but we created a really good performance, except for 10-15 minutes in the first half”.

‘Four months of rehabilitation is made more hard especially when you don’t have an opportunity to be tested, or even a friendly to practice. I hope it will go on like that. “I think, for the away team, it is a disadvantage without fans”. We had to get everything right, be very courageous, attack high up with high intensity.
