Apple’s next iPhone might ditch the home button

The carrier also noted that the devices set a “single day sales record for any smartphone ever” in its history. Also on Tuesday, Sprint Corporation (NYSE:S) reported that pre-orders of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus were up more than 375% in the first three days compared to a year ago.

AAPL’s recent peak comes in the buildup to the release of the iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, and Apple Watch Series 2 this Friday, September 16th. Pre-orders also rose almost four times at T-Mobile, compared with its next most popular iPhone. Apple India is yet to announce the opening of pre-bookings officially in the country for both new models. But it also seemingly confirms that “there are no reservations available to pick up the jet black model on Friday”. The website displays an option to pre-register for an iPhone 7 or iPhone 7 Plus. You can also walk into an Apple store near you as majority are accepting pre-oders for the new iPhones.

Apple’s AirPods, the company’s first wireless earphones introduced at its September keynote, have had a sketchy relationship with consumers in the short time they’ve existed in the public sphere. In fact, they’ve made a lot of odd decisions over the years, stuff like abandoning the USB standard for their own, proprietary charging cables and now, with the iPhone 7, removing the headphone jack altogether. That’s because the noise cancellation takes the extra power needed from the iPhone!

For that reason, the company said it decided that initial sales figures were “no longer a representative metric for our investors and customers”. Apple has not disclosed the price of the other storage versions of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus.
