However, his father has concerns.

National Football League commissioner Roger Goodell told The Washington Post on Monday that officials “missed at least one” illegal hit by Broncos defenders, who had at least four helmet-to-helmet hits against Newton in Denver’s season-opening victory.

“Just because we hit Cam in the head a couple of times, that doesn’t make us dirty”, insisted linebacker Brandon Marshall, who had one of four helmet-to-helmet hits on Carolina’s big quarterback in the Broncos’ 21-20 win over the Panthers on Thursday night.

“Worry about what?” Newton said, via Pro Football Talk, when asked about his health. I don’t worry too much about it.

“On the referees’ side, I can’t worry about that”, Newton said. I’m not here to worry about works comp. “It happens so fast, but when you get the luxury of seeing replays over and over again, you say, wait a minute, that wasn’t right”. “The NFL is going to do their investigation and I know wholeheartedly that [head athletic trainer] Ryan Vermillion and his staff did an exceptional job of protecting me along with other players”.

Cam Newton said he’s not anxious about the long-term effects of repeated hits to his head.

“What disappointed me the most was how they basically went against protocol with 36 seconds to go”, Pereira said.

NFL Network analyst and 49ers coach Steve Mariucci is on the league’s safety advisory committee and said he expected the hits on Newton to be addressed at a scheduled meeting next week. It left Newton motionless on the ground, but he wasn’t checked for a concussion until after the game. “I’m sure he’s going to use it as motivation”. Their hits to Newton’s head were deemed accidental. “My focus is the San Francisco 49ers’ defense and the team that shut out the Los Angeles Rams”.

The Chiefs released third-round pick KeiVarae Russell and brought back linebacker Dezman Moses in a surprise move one week into the season.

In winning the NFL’s Most Valuable Player award past year, Newton passed for 3,837 yards with 35 touchdown passes and 10 interceptions, and rushed for 636 yards and 10 touchdowns on the ground.

The Broncos have defended their play, with head coach Gary Kubiak telling The Denver Post, “I mean, [Newton’s] a top player in football – they are designed runs for him”. It was no wooziness and guys kind of stumbled and I see where it affects their play afterward.

As most people associated with the NFL will describe it, football is a “high collision” – not high impact – sport.
