Clinton ‘healthy and fit to serve’

Hillary Clinton’s doctor Wednesday declared her “fit to serve” as president, in a health bulletin released on Wednesday after being grounded by pneumonia at the height of the White House race. She wrote that she has evaluated the Democratic nominee “several times” since September 11 and that she “continues to improve”.

The President had gone on the stump as Mrs Clinton continued to rest in her home in Chappaqua, New York, after she almost collapsed during a Sept 11 memorial ceremony in New York on Sunday.

At a Wednesday evening rally in Canton, Ohio, Trump noted the room filled with 5,000 people was hot. We want her back on the trail.

Mrs Clinton was said to be “recovering well with antibiotics and rest” after being laid low by a case of “mild, non-contagious” pneumonia over the weekend.

The letter says the illness stemmed from a bout of seasonal allergies that developed into an upper respiratory tract infection and cough.

“Antibiotics can take care of pneumonia”, wrote David Axelrod, U.S. President Barack Obama’s senior adviser on Twitter.

Clinton’s campaign also took a moment to call out 70-year-old GOP candidate Donald Trump when releasing the medical statement and asked why he hasn’t done the same.

Clinton’s vitals were also roughly the same as those released previous year, with a blood pressure of 100/70, compared with 100/65 in 2015, and a heart rate of 70, compared with 72 in 2015.

Trump’s campaign said the Republican would release the physical summary Thursday.

That’s what she tells the Tom Joyner radio show in a taped interview broadcast on Thursday morning.

She’s “had a few days off to reflect a little bit” about “what’s truly important”, said Merrill aboard Clinton’s campaign plane. She is to return to the campaign trail on Thursday, her spokesman Nick Merrill said on Tuesday evening.

Clinton responded to transparency questions on the radio show: “I’ve worked very, very hard to be more transparent than not just my opponent but really, in a comparison to anybody who’s run”, said.

A statement Wednesday afternoon from Clinton’s campaign quotes the candidate’s longtime physician, who visited with Clinton at her home on Wednesday, as saying that Clinton’s physical exam “was normal”. She concluded then that Clinton is in “excellent physical condition and fit to serve”. He reportedly showed Oz a new letter from his doctor, Harold Bornstein, whose first over-the-top description of Trump’s health was widely mocked.

Robby Mook, Hillary for America Campaign Manager, said: “It’s fair to say the public now knows more about Hillary Clinton than almost anyone in public life”.

Donald Trump’s Dr. Oz appearance will air.

Mook added: “It begs the question: what is he trying to hide?”

Donald Trump reversed course Wednesday and divulged some results from his recent medical examination during a taping of “The Dr. Oz Show” after his campaign advisers insisted earlier in the day that he would not.

Bornstein and Trump came under fire last month after the doctor revealed that the note was written in five minutes while a limousine sent by the candidate waited outside Bornstein’s Manhattan office.
