Trump releases doctor’s letter, says he ‘is in excellent physical health’

He noted that Trump had been hospitalised only once, for an appendectomy when he was 11 years old, and that his parents lived into their late 80s and 90s.

The campaign trail this week has been dominated not by poll numbers, but by a different set of statistics: cholesterol, triglycerides and the blood pressure levels laid out by the medical records of both major party candidates.

The physical was done September 9 by Dr. Harold N. Bornstein of New York City, the same doctor who raved about Trump’s health in a December statement. “I don’t know”, Trump said. His cardiac evaluation, electrocardiogram (EKG) and chest x-ray were also normal. Trump’s physician says his height is 6 feet 3 inches, and that he weighs 236 pounds, which puts him at a BMI of 29.5, which is overweight according to the National Institutes of Health calculator.

The Trump campaign used the release to take a swipe at Hillary Clinton, lauding the billionaire’s ability to “endure – uninterrupted – the rigors of a punishing and unprecedented presidential campaign”. “He does not use tobacco products or alcohol”.

He had previously been reluctant to release medical records, as well as additional information relating to his taxes and businesses.

Trump had a physical exam last week and first revealed some details on “The Dr. Oz Show”.

Trump provided host Mehmet Oz with the letter and ran through a quick discussion of the results.

But according to the World Health Organization standards, Trump is overweight and almost obese with a body mass index (BMI) of 29.5.

When Oz commented on Ivanka Trump’s kiss, her father said he kisses her “as often as I can”, according to reports.

“Now we have one (politician, referring to Clinton) left, now we have one left”.

A president Trump would be the oldest ever, and Clinton would come in at second place after Ronald Reagan. He had a normal PSA, a test for prostate abnormalities, and liver and thyroid tests were within a normal range. But Trump openly discusses his love for steak, hamburger and fast food in general, and said on the Oz show Thursday that delivering his campaign speeches “is really a healthy act”.

She will return to the campaign trail Thursday, her campaign added. “We’ll talk about everything and we’re all having a good time”.

It cited no family history of cancer or early heart disease, but mentioned no other conditions. In his family history there is no history of heart disease; his father, Fred Trump, a NY real estate developer who died at 93, contracted Alzheimer’s Disease late in his long life.

The letter has certain lab results but little context, and no way to know just what’s missing, said Pittsburgh’s Lincoln. Bornstein has been Trump’s physician for more than three decades.

His poor taste comments come as both his dad and Democrat rival Mrs Clinton face pressure to share more medical information since Mrs Clinton fell ill during a 9/11 ceremony in NY on Sunday and was forced to leave.

TV host Mehmet Oz reviews Trump's medical records on The Dr. Oz Show on Wednesday September 14 in New York City. The episode aired on Thursday
