Minnesota Vikings vs Tennessee Titans: 3 things we learned
Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks Shaun Hill, left, and Sam Bradford warm up during practice Monday Sept. 5, 2016, in Eden Prairie, Minn. The guess here is the Vikings will turn to Bradford before the Packers game, using the quarterback for whom they traded a first-round pick and a conditional fourth-rounder. And given how closely the Vikings guarded the identity of their quarterback before Sunday’s game – a contest against an AFC South opponent that professed not to be too concerned with the decision – it stands to reason they’ll play the shell game again before they open U.S. Bank Stadium against their biggest rival.

Minnesota Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer continues to be coy about his team’s starting quarterback situation. He carried 19 times for just 31 yards. “I haven’t decided yet so we’ll figure all that stuff out”, Zimmer said. The Packers will be looking to re-establish their divisional dominance after the Vikings took the NFC North crown in the 2015 season finale with 20-13 win at Lambeau Field. Who knows how much debate there was inside the coach’s room, but Hill proved that Mike Zimmer was right to spend the week saying, “We have confidence in Shaun Hill”. Shaun Hill was efficient, going 18 of 33 for 236 yards without giving up a sack or turning the ball over.
Thanks to a pair of touchdowns courtesy of their defensive front seven, the Minnesota Vikings scored all of their points in the second half for a 25-16 comeback victory over the host Tennessee Titans.
Vikings players were informed that Hill will get the start, according to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport and confirmed to ESPN on Saturday. Eric Kendricks returned an interception 77 yards for a score, and Danielle Hunter scooped up a fumble and raced 24 yards to the end zone.
One of those things Zimmer is probably dying to fix is the running game.
“I’ve been wired up, and I’ll be ready to roll Sunday”, Peterson said. He helped the Vikings pick up 12 of their 15 first downs through the air, often finding Diggs, tight end Kyle Rudolph or Adam Thielen to keep drives alive. “He took care of the football and made good plays”. The offense still lacked dynamic playmaking ability, but the defense more than made up for it with two defensive touchdowns. Either way, Bradford’s play will have a tremendous influence on whether or not the Vikings are a playoff team this upcoming season. “We just beat ourselves”.
The Green Packers added starting offensive tackle David Bakhtiari to their injury report with a back injury for Sunday’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars. DeMarco Murray had a pair of T-D catches while running for 42 yards in his Titans debut.

Zimmer also said cornerback Xavier Rhodes, who was a late scratch Sunday, does not need surgery and is day-to-day with a knee injury.
