How Pokemon Go’s New ‘Buddy System’ Works

Apple recently announced that Pokémon Go will be available for its Apple Watch, and the Pokémon Go Plus accessory is set to be released this month.

Somehow, the Buddy System addresses previous complaints of players who find it hard to evolve their Pokemon because of the lack of spawning of certain wild Pokemon in their area. The update brings a Buddy Pokemon system to the game, which allows users to earn extra Pokemon Candy by walking certain distances.

“This device, OS, or software is not compatible with Pokémon Go”, is the message that now greets those with jailbroken phones. Most probably it would have to be an augmented reality app following Ingress and Pokemon Go’s footsteps.

This is very interesting, and supports the “whale” theory of free-to-play mobile games. Since its early success, Pokemon GO has dropped in terms of popularity. Few petitions on change.org can also be found against the Pokemon GO release in India.

IOS device owners can finally download the latest Pokemon GO update which lets players choose their buddy, and earn sweets without having to catch any critter. If you want to check your progress with your Pokemon Buddy, you have to log into the Android device and you will see how far you have walked with your Buddy Pokemon and receive the associated Candy. Player vs player battles will arrive in the future and Niantic just launched buddy Pokemon, which lets you show off your favourite Pokemon and collect candy while you’re walking around. Similar to the “Pokemon Go” Plus device, the Apple Watch will be able to alert gamers if a Pokemon is nearby and it will also give players updates on hatching eggs.

From there, you should see three bars to your lower right hand side.

We should remind you guys that Nintendo has no hand in Pokemon GO. Evolved Pokemons can not incur any more sweets.
