What went wrong on Pittsburgh Steelers’ 1st INT vs. Washington Redskins
The first 3 quarters of the game easily went to the Steelers with nearly no push back from the Redskins.

Just like last year, Cousins and the Redskins lost a home game to an AFC opponent (last year it was the Dolphins).
Asked about the possibility of switching things up during the game, Barry replied: “To coordinate that in a game plan is hard”. He caught one pass for 9 yards, the only time Cousins targeted Doctson.
“I get so excited watching those guys, I was more nervous watching than playing”, Wheaton said. That’s a subpar passer rating of 72.7. The victor moves to 2-0 while the loser already falls a game back.
“I feel if you go in that mindset of trying to retaliate for a year ago, it’s not smart”, receiver A.J. Green said.
ESPN’s Randy Moss and Trent Dilfer explained after the game that the Redskins’ defense isn’t built around one player, and to change a scheme that was implemented throughout the offseason, training camp and preseason – just because Brown is very good at his job – would have made things worse for the other 10 players. “What are you going to do without Le’Veon [Bell], without Heath Miller?’ My message was, ‘Well, we’ve got Sammie Coates, Eli, and all the tight ends, DeAngelo Williams.’ We’ve got guys that can make plays and they showed up tonight”.
Cousins also addressed his performance from a bottom-line standpoint.
“We’re confident in that group”, Steelers coach Mike Tomlin said.
If he wants to keep up with the rapidly maturing players behind him on the depth chart, it’s probably a good idea.
“I think for the majority of his career he’s been a pretty solid, accurate passer”, the CBS Sports NFL analyst said Thursday. And we realize that to win the game you can’t beat yourself.
Since the coach and QB won’t address the problems let’s take a look at some ourselves. The division’s weakness helped them make the postseason previous year for the first time since 2012.
That was more than enough to overwhelm the Redskins, who looked helpless as Brown lit them up for 11 receptions for 126 yards, two touchdowns and a comically risque celebration that drew a flag and set social media aflame. Unfortunately, they needed 14 for a first down and punted.
Twice, pass-rusher Preston Smith had his hands around Ben Roethlisberger-only to see Pittsburgh’s sequoia of a quarterback escape and make a drive-extending pass. A promising possession ended with three points instead of seven. The Steelers offense looked methodical and almost unstoppable as they gained 435 yards and put up an National Football League nest 38 points on the board. “He’s a great family man, husband and father”, Tomlin said.

The fact that Roethlisberger had only attempted 12 such deep throws on 3 or 4 downs with two or less yards to go since 2012 is honestly number I expected to be a bit higher before starting my research of the stat.
