Nepal’s new Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal “Prachanda” received a ceremonial welcome here at Rashtrapati Bhawan on Friday.
The Nepal Prime Minister will attend a reception to be hosted by the Embassy of Nepal in New Delhi on Thursday.
PM Dahal will visit Rajghat in New Delhi and lay a wreath at the cemetery of Mahatma Gandhi today itself. Indo-Nepal ties are unique and special.
“The Prime Minister will be accompanied by his spouse, Mrs. Sita Dahal”.
Emphasising on the need to unite those in the Terai, hills and the plains, the Prime Minister of Nepal said, if that does not happen, then Nepal’s sovereignty will be mere words. We have discussed the issues related to the rivers in Bihar that emerge from Nepal.
Proposal on feasibility study of east-west electric rail in Nepal, building an 80 km long Buddhist circuit linking key heritage sites between Nepal and India were also in the agenda.
Another official in the road ministry said contractors from both Nepal and India can do the bidding for the project.
During the visit, the Nepal Prime Minister will inspect Nathpa Jhakri Hydropower Project in Himanchal Pradesh and visit Patanjali Yogpeeth and its industrial or manufacturing units in Haridwar. Nepal also wants Indian capital (India is in fourth place as far as private investments in Nepal is concerned, China is in first place) and will roll out a slew of incentives for Indian investors. He will also call on President Pranab Mukherjee and several union ministers during the September 15-18 visit. New Delhi should do its bit to encourage Indian industrialists and entrepreneurs to go to Nepal.

During the visit, both sides will discuss more support for reconstruction in the wake of the April 2015 quake in Nepal, agreements related to hydroelectricity and a postal highway.
