Tyrod Taylor looking to rebound vs. Jets

Ryan is the former coach of the Jets team and will try to hand his old team the road loss. Jets seeking to avoid first 0-2 start since 2007. Still he sees an edge for the home team tonight.

“Now we’ve got to go against a more talented defense”, Ryan said.

“Last year, I thought it was different because I was going back to NY, it seemed like bigger”, said Ryan, who memorably punched the air in delight and yelled a profanity following Buffalo’s 22-17 win in his first return to the Meadowlands in November. It was Rex Ryan’s first time back in NY since the Jets fired him and the end result was exactly what everyone was hoping for.

Sadly, it probably won’t be a pretty one. On Thursday they get reacquainted – on short notice.

The Bills meanwhile went down 13-7 at Baltimore and you could argue that they were lucky to get 7. Last season, they suffered a loss against Buffalo which took away their chances at a playoff appearance. McCoy faced them for the first two times of his career and averaged 107 yards on the ground per game.

Rex Ryan: Rexy is on a hot seat right now!

Can Tyrod Taylor overcome his awful first game performance?

Last season, Ryan was celebrating the play of his top two cornerbacks, Stephon Gilmore and Ronald Darby, as on par with the performance of his top Jets cornerbacks, Darrelle Revis and Antonio Cromartie, in their prime. Despite the injured foot, Watkins is expected to play. Revis really struggled against A.J.

The Jets Offense: Quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick looked out of sync with his star receivers Brandon Marshall and Eric Decker, even though this was against a good Cincinnati defense, as both receivers failed to haul in more than half of their targets. The Bills’ front seven is still missing Marcell Dareus (suspended) and Shaq Lawson (injured). It’s hard to see Fitzpatrick having a big night.

The Jets and the Bills are already in the familiar position of looking up at the New England Patriots in the AFC East standings.

He was a non-factor for the Bills against the Ravens, with four catches for 43 yards. After missing a typically automatic field goal from 22 yards in addition to an extra point, the NY media was blaming a man they were used to praising. Probably not as well at they would like, but they will keep trying and grind it out. The Bills could not find a way through a Ravens defense that restricted the visitors to just 160 yards and sacked Tyrod Taylor twice, and that meant a 66-yard touchdown pass from Joe Flacco to Mike Wallace and a couple of Justin Tucker field goals were enough to give Baltimore the “W”. “It’s just one of those things, I guess”. Jets facing Bills’ offense that sputtered last week and features limping WR Sammy Watkins (left foot).
