The apps, which are free, will have all the live-streaming video available on Twitter.
Tonight’s matchup against the New York Jets, the team’s home opener and the first regular season game at the newly-christened New Era Field, will be streamed live on Twitter.
Twitter on Xbox One is available only in Australia, Brazil, Canada, Mexico, the United Kingdom and the U.S., while Twitter for Amazon Fire TV and Fire TV Stick is available only in the USA and the UK. “Let’s say me and you are buddies, and we’re sitting around on Twitter with 10 other people who all went to college together”.
The analyst however, remains a skeptic over the benefits of the live events, saying that “Twitter is hardly the only one pursuing a streaming content strategy built around live sporting events, with Amazon the latest to throw its hat in the ring”. It is exploring options beyond live news and the series of diverse live streaming deals are a reflection of that.
The livestream on Twitter will show CBS’s broadcast. It has also inked deal with live news network, Cheddar to live stream their opening and closing market coverage. We’re a media company. Twitter’s brand advertising business is struggling.
Apart from NFL, it has collaborated with National Basketball Association and Major League Soccer, NHL.
