Facebook gives its reaction buttons a ‘Star Trek’ theme
Introduced by Good Morning America on Thursday, users will be able to use Star Trek to react to a Facebook post. To commemorate the occasion, Facebook has made a decision to come up with custom reactions as a tribute.

It later spawned books, games, comics, an animated series and six movies with the original cast, beginning with 1979’s “Star Trek: The Motion Picture” and continuing with classic sequels like “The Wrath of Khan” and “The Search for Spock”. The new Star Trek reactions include a sparkly thumbs-up (Like), Vulcan salute (Love), Captain Kirk (Haha), Spock (Wow), Geordi (Sad), and a Klingon (Angry).
Today, after five decades of living long and prospering, Facebook is honoring the 50th anniversary of the series with a custom set of reaction buttons.

For a limited time, some (but not all) Facebook users in the USA and Canada will be able see iconic characters from the series replacing the standard buttons.
“Star Trek” turns 50 years old this year, and I’d say it looks pretty good for the big 5-0. They’re prompted to do so by a greeting including the USS Enterprise.
Also, it has been confirmed that before Star Trek Beyond debuts on TV, plans are already underway for a fourth film in the reboot series that will somehow bring back Chris Hemsworth as George Kirk.
Unfortunately, getting the Star Trek emoji might not be as simple as going to the franchise’s Facebook page and liking it.
