Ivanka Trump blasts Cosmopolitan after heated interview

Ivanka Trump called the proposals “long overdue” changes for an “inaffordable, inaccessible child care system that we now have in place that’s failing American families”. A RealClearPolitics average of national polling on Tuesday showed Democrat nominee Hillary Clinton leading 45.8 percent to 43.4 percent, a gap that stood at almost 8 percentage points on August 9.

“So it’s meant to benefit, whether it’s in same-sex marriages as well, to benefit the mother who has given birth to the child if they have legal married status under the tax code”, Ivanka Trump said in the interview.

Women whose employers don’t offer paid maternity leave will be entitled to six weeks off with compensation, the campaign said, with the money coming from existing unemployment insurance. It’s disgraceful, and it’s just one of the terrible ways the income gap manifests itself in this country.

Asked about the Huffington Post report on Wednesday, Rosen said in a new statement that “the policies and practices allowing employees to enjoy a healthy work-life balance vary from property to property”.

“Well, what about gay couples, where both partners are men?” Though Gupta apologized for the perceived negativity, Trump abruptly ended the interview shortly thereafter. What about same sex couples, Gupta asks.

The Trump campaign did not respond to requests for comment about whether Ivanka Trump mischaracterized the Trump Organization’s parental leave policy. Adoptive parents, in other words, wouldn’t get leave under Trump’s plan.

Trump: The policy is fleshed out online, so you can go see all the elements of it. “Can you talk a little about those comments, and perhaps what has changed?”

“I want to applaud my daughter Ivanka for her leadership on this issue”, Trump said at the start of his 20-minute speech on the topic Tuesday.

“So I think that you have a lot of negativity in these questions”, she said.

Trump, seeking to make inroads with suburban women voters who polls have shown continue to strongly support the Democratic nominee, has focused instead on another target: Clinton’s comments labeling half of his supporters as a “basket of deplorables”. “I don’t know that he said those comments”.

Child-care costs have indeed outpaced rent and tuition in most US states. Clinton’s plan would cap child care costs at 10% of household income, a needed fix especially for low-wage workers in expensive metropolitan areas, where the cost of day care can consume a minimum-wage worker’s annual income. She also spoken passionately about the issue during her Republican National Convention address.
