Eddie Howe admits he enjoys watching Manchester City play under Pep Guardiola

City fans have jeered the anthem since 2014 when CSKA Moscow fans were allowed to watch a game against their side despite it being supposedly being played behind closed doors in punishment for racist incidents.

Manchester City summer signing Ilkay Gundogan has described his debut as “the ideal day” as his side got their Champions League campaign off to the flawless start with a 4-0 rout of Borussia Monchengladbach.

Manchester City’s Ilkay Gundogan has praised Sergio Aguero’s natural goalscoring ability after the striker scored his second European hat-trick of the season against Borussia Monchengladbach. Therefore Fusion Media doesn’t bear any responsibility for any trading losses you might incur as a result of using this data.

In fact, there have been areas of fallibility in City’s play so far this season, while the dominant nature of their win in the derby was largely down to tactical errors made by Jose Mourinho and his inability to match the Citizens numerically in midfield.

Brendan Rodgers’ side are next up for City, but Pablo Zabaleta insists that Guardiola’s men will take nothing for granted heading into the September 28 clash at Celtic Park.

“He (Guardiola) hasn’t said anything to me and if I feel good I want to play and make a difference, but he will decide”, said Gundogan.

“We had lost the full control we had had in the first half and I thought he wrestled that back for us”.

“I’m really happy now”.

“Our fans, they have to know that we need them in the Champions League”.

It was another highly convincing performance by City, who did not even seem to get into top gear as they cruised to a seventh successive win under Pep Guardiola. “We played really, really good- the players played at a high level”.

But Aguero is not simply a goal scorer and said that he must play his part in Guardiola’s tactics to win the ball back as quickly as possible.

His efforts ensured Guardiola made a successful start to his attempt to join the elite band of managers – including cross-city rival Jose Mourinho – who have led two clubs to Europe’s most prestigious club honour.

‘I still have three years more here, ‘ Aguero said.

‘It’s a great challenge for us, I see Manchester City as potential champions.

“The people are listening so I am sure they are going to do that”.

Jack Wilshere took his first steps as a Bournemouth player, appearing as a substitute in the victory over West Bromwich Albion last weekend following his season-long loan move from Arsenal. The former Borussia Dortmund midfielder came to City for £21 million, and looked every bit the playmaker Guardiola sought for his system. We have five games left in the group stages.
