However, the remaining 14 snakes were released into an uninhabited area off I-22 in SC and remain unaccounted for.
Two of the snakes were found in the area and authorities said the person suspected of releasing the snakes told them he let the rest of them go in a remote area. Ball pythons, also known as royal pythons, are known to roll up in a ball as a defense mechanism. ‘I’m very upset. I had my few hours of tears already over my snakes. They’re more likely to ball up in a ball like the name suggests and hide than anything else, ‘ Priscilla Crisler of Augusta Animal Services said. “I’m not sure if I’m going to get them back”, Heim said.
Jackie Heim thought her pet snakes had been released in the Woodlake Subdivision in Hephzibah. Animal control officials said you don’t have to run from or kill these snakes. “It’s a different kind of pet, but you do grow attached to them”.
But neighbours like Ms Shekelia Wilcher are on edge. “You do grow affectionate for them”, she said.
