If any of you Dream Team managers were unfortunate enough to have any United players in your team, listen up…

City kicked off their Champions League group stage campaign with a comfortable 4-0 win over Borussia Monchengladbach on Wednesday night.

United were punished for a disjointed attacking display in Rotterdam as the Eredivisie leaders secured a late victory through Tonny Vilhena.

“I said, “Yes good start, very good start” but I never was on the moon”.

“I was not saying that we are a phenomenal team and we are going to destroy every opponent”. The thing that impressed me the most was the fact he was only young when he came into the side and he wanted to be the best player in the side.

“I know the situation is not a case of clicking your fingers and everything is ideal”, said the United manager.

However, the gamble didn’t pay off and with little over 10 minutes remaining Vilhena fired a low effort past David De Gea in the United goal.

“Obviously when you lose matches then the mood and feeling is not the same”. You lose matches and people are sad and feel it. That is the normal nature of football players. We were trying to win and they were trying not to lose.

Speaking to BT Sport after the game, Mourinho said: “Of course I’m unhappy”.

Pogba was part of a three-man midfielder that also contained Ander Herrera and Morgan Schniederlin but together the trio could not unpick the Dutch side’s defence. “Mourinho reckons he’s the Special One, to me this guy [Guardiola] is”, he said, speaking as a pundit on ITV. “It’s something I don’t like”.

And so, United’s vast, opulent luxury liner came crashing upon the rocks as the likes of Paul Pogba, Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the truly abysmal Memphis Depay repeatedly fell at the first hurdle in their attempts to claw back parity. “In the second half, they defended with a great crowd and a great spirit”.

“It was in that moment that we were pushing and we were feeling that they were collapsing because they were starting to feel a bit in trouble”. But we knew that if we could keep the ball against Manchester, there are possibilities. “We fought hard to get the result and after 90 minutes we did”.
