Claudio Ranieri: Leicester set for another impossible dream in Champions League
Algeria worldwide, Riyad Mahrez, was on good form for the English Premier League champions, Leicester City, he scored twice as the Foxes beat Club Brugge, in their first group game.

The 26-year-old wrote himself into Foxes folklore when he opened the scoring in Wednesday’s 3-0 win at Club Brugge after just five minutes.
The Premier League champions went into their first European game off the back of a 4-1 loss to Liverpool on Saturday, a result that dropped them to 16th place in the table.
“It was some feeling, something I never thought I’d achieve”, said Albrighton, who has won a Premier League medal, played against Barcelona and now scored in the Champions League since being released by Aston Villa two years ago.
Leicester eased to a 3-0 rout of Club Brugge to mark a fairytale Champions League debut, leaving boss Claudio Ranieri hailing his fantastic Foxes.
His team may have fulfilled all the stereotypical requirements of a surprise victor defending a title during the open blows of the new Premier League season but they have the Champions League cracked and can already think about the knockout phase. “We are going to look to show them what we are made of”, he said.
In Group F, Borussia Dortmund pummelled Legia Warszawa 6-0 to top the group after reigning champions Real Madrid laboured to a 2-1 win at home to Sporting CP.
“If I risk him [Simpson], I could lose him for a month”, said Ranieri.
“If he hadn’t scored I’d take his neck and crush his neck!” he said. “Maybe he is very exhausted of listening to dilly-ding, dilly-dong and prefers the Champions League music”.
Wednesday’s match away at Club Brugge will also see captain Morgan make his Champions League debut, and the Jamaica worldwide considers it one of the greatest moments of his career. He took responsibility. I tried to say Slimani because he scores penalties but he had the personality to want to choose. “He was a lucky man!”
“We failed because after two minutes we could have scored and the game was totally different”. If we change our style, we don’t give 100 per cent of Leicester football. Of course the Champions League is much better, but now we play just the first match. I think also Brugge can win the Champions League, also (Russian club) Rostov. We want to get back in the the form we were in when we won the title last season.

“If other teams think we are one of the weak links then that might not be wise”.
