This April 2008 photo shows Robert Gordon, father of NASCAR racer Robby Gordon. He previously raced on numerous racing circuits, from NASCAR to IndyCar to Champ Car and IROC.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire Gordon family. But none, it appears, had greater remorse than Johnson. “Thinking of the Gordon family and friends”. Those roots were deep.

Bob Gordon, Johnson told media members, “gave me my first ride in an off-road buggy”.

Johnson said he texted Robby and Robby’s sister Beccy to offer his condolences.

“But he didn’t go into anything emotionally”. I grew up on this property my whole life, I learnt all about everything about motorsports at this tented barn over here. “It made me smile a little bit, but it’s still a complete and utter shock”. Gordon last raced in the Sprint Cup in 2012.

The elder Gordon, known by many as “Baja Bob”, was a fixture in the off-road racing scene throughout the last four decades. NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt, Jr. sent a tweet that said he was praying for Robby and Beccy Gordon to find strength in this hard time, and Jimmie Johnson also took the time to send the Gordon family his condolences.

The Orange County coroner’s office identified the deceased as 68-year-old Robert Gordon and 57-year-old Sharon Gordon, his wife. “And my sister that is Sharon’s daughter, Haylee”.

Beccy Gordon, the wife of 2014 Indianapolis 500 victor Ryan Hunter-Reay, gave birth to a boy Wednesday. Beccy’s husband, Ryan Hunter-Reay, is also a professional race vehicle driver, and in 2014, he won the Indianapolis 500.

It’s the third son for the Hunter-Reay family.

Sharon Gordon was strangled to death while her husband, Robert Gordon, died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to L.A. Times. According to the Orange County Register the police reported that a 911 call came in saying that there were two bodies inside of the home, the call came from a neighbor.

Johnson recalled an incident from one race with “Baja Bob”.

“I didn’t know I had a motion sickness problem riding in a auto and I rode in the Baja 500 and puked, literally, for 499 miles”, Johnson said. “He used to brag that he rode with you in desert cars.'” Johnson said. “My dad was in one of the pit stops and I was stopped and covered in vomit”. And he’s trying to pull me out.

“I’m so sad I can’t believe it”, Gordon told reporters.
