Watch how the iPhone 7 handles knife scratches and intense bending
Fortunately, Apple’s latest handset seems pretty resilient: YouTuber JerryRigEverything scratched, burned and even attempted to bend an iPhone 7 in a series of durability tests, and the phone came out relatively unscathed.

Apple recently revealed its most powerful flagship iPhone and the devices are presently up for sale. In order to find out if the iPhone 7 is good enough in terms of build quality, you need to test it personally, but it is not possible for everyone to do it on a phone as expensive as this one. The iPhone 7 looks like it could manage a pair of keys in your pocket thanks to an anodizing process.
The results of the last two scratch tests are a bit questionable, as the video claims that both the rear camera’s cover and the Touch ID home button are made of glass, while Apple’s website states that both use sapphire.
The new iPhone 7 and 7 Plus are slowly rolling out to buyers around the globe today, and while we’ve already the larger device go through a teardown, now it’s time to see how the standard 4.7-inch model stands up to bending and scratching.
When it comes to the aluminum back cover, the Matte black model holds up well to scratches from keys, but contact with sharper objects will certainly damage the surface.

Interestingly, JerryRigEverything disproves of Apple’s claim that the iPhone 7’s home button and camera lens feature sapphire crystal covers, because sapphire is supposed to resist scratches at up to level 9 surface hardness.
