Pistorius’ advice for Liam Malone

Earlier this week, Malone smashed two of Pistorius’ Paralympic records – in the men’s 400m and 200m T44.

New Zealand has hit its target for 18 medals at the Rio Paralympics, extending its gilt-edged standing on the medals per capita tables, according to Statistics NZ.

New Zealand now has nine gold medals, five silver, and four bronze.

Similar to the South African, the 22-year-old Kiwi was born with fibular hemimelia in both legs and had to have his legs amputated at a young age.

On Friday, Malone gave an emotional interview after winning silver in the 100 meters, in which he paid tribute to his mother who passed away from bowel cancer in 2012.

Pistorius, one of the world’s most famous disability athletes, is serving a six-year jail term for the murder of his girlfriend Reeva Steenkamp. South Africa’s National Prosecuting Authority has announced it would appeal the sentence.
