Columbus Short arrested by bounty hunter over domestic violence case

Columbus Short was taken into custody at his album release party at Infusion Lounge on Tuesday night (August 18) in Los Angeles.

Short was subsequently let go from his hit show amid the arrest and other allegations of spousal abuse.

E! News confirms with the celeb’s camp that Short was arrested by bounty hunters and booked for a citizen’s arrest at around 12:30 a.m. The gossip site said they also learned the bounty hunters will be paid a portion of his $500,000 bail and that they arrested Short because he was believed to have been preparing to leave the country.

TMZ reported that Short was apprehended Tuesday by bounty hunters and police officers before heading into the club for soundcheck after a judge issued a bench warrant for failure to appear in court for one of his domestic violence cases.

In April 2014 it was announced he would be leaving the ABC drama amid allegations he attacked his wife who later filed for divorce. “I was doing cocaine and drinking a lot, and trying to balance a 16-hour work schedule a day, and a family, and I just lost myself back then”.
