Samsung’s Recall Update Notice: “Samsung has announced a voluntary recall and exchange program on certain Galaxy Note7 devices in cooperation with the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC)”.

Consumers should immediately stop using and power down the recalled Galaxy Note7 devices purchased before September 15, 2016. Replacement devices should be available at most retail locations no later than september 21, Samsung said.

The federal agency says Note 7 users can get a free replacement from Samsung, their wireless carrier or the retail outlet where the bought the phone. Indeed, there have been multiple reports of Galaxy Note 7 smartphones catching fire and causing damages to houses, vehicles and even owners.
“Consumers should immediately stop using and power down the recalled Galaxy Note7 devices”, the commission said.

Samsung is printed on the top front of the phone and Galaxy Note7 is printed on the back of the phone. Baxter assures customers the new Galaxy Note 7 handsets being shipped have been approved as safe from an “independent lithium ION battery expert”.
Samsung’s woes with the Galaxy Note 7’s battery are far from done. Customers were instructed to contact their retailer to exchange the device for another Samsung phone or a refund.

Samsung issued a recall earlier in September, but it’s been anything but smooth. In a related development, the Department of Transportation is ordering airline passengers not to bring their Note 7s on planes unless they keep them turned off during the flight.
