Donald Trump: ‘Obama Was Born In The United States’

“This sickening display shows more than ever why Donald Trump is totally unfit be president”. He claimed the Democratic candidate started the birther issue in 2008 – but that’s false.

“I’ll answer that question at the right time. No, there is nothing to base that on – as far as I know”.

It was one of the most manipulative plays yet for a candidate who has mastered and maximized the media landscape, the American public’s anxiety over terrorism and economic inequality, and the polarized state of USA politics. Clinton has called for Trump to apologize to President Obama and the American people for promoting the birther theory.

The Republican candidate had been a leader of the “birther” movement that questioned Hawaii-born Mr Obama’s citizenship.

The president on Friday added that he hoped the election would focus on more serious issues, and that he “was pretty confident about where I was born”.

“He said he was “not that shocked” that the question would come up”. And even if the intention of the media coverage was to provide that context to his comments, there is another major benefit for Trump: free advertising time.

Trump also claimed, falsely, that Hillary Clinton – “her campaign in 2008 started the birther controversy”. But Trump has dodged questions about the matter during his campaign.

“He is feeding into the worst impulses – the bigotry and bias – that lurks in our country”, she also said.

Clinton seized on Trump’s refusal during a speech Thursday night.

Other Democrats say Clinton often is at her best with her back against the ropes.

In an interview with NPR’s Morning Edition that aired Friday, Virginia Sen.

Trump’s work riling up birthers in 2011 was an important step for him in moving from the world of business to the world of politics.

If hundreds of thousands of children and fatherless “family units” flooding our southern border and entering the U.S. essentially with impunity does not concern you; if you are insulated from the impact of lowering wages, overcrowded emergency rooms, trashed public parks and the existence of a lawless underground which shuns the police – all of which unrestricted illegal immigration spawns – then you are likely to view those who insist that illegal aliens should be returned to their home country and we should build a wall to stem the flow as mere haters of brown people.

Donald Trump finally said it: President Barack Obama was born in the U.S. Clinton has long denied that. That’s the way it worked out.

Few weeks later, Obama, at a White House correspondents dinner, released his actual birth certificate from his native Hawaii and mocked Trump. Trump said in a CNN interview.

Democratic vice presidential nominee Tim Kaine says he thinks some supporters of Donald Trump “are motivated by dark emotions”.

“Kaine said Thursday that Clinton has a duty to draw attention to the messages of some Trump supporters”. The Washington Post asked Trump about it again Thursday night.

“I’m going to have a big statement made today at the hotel”. Reid said, “I’ve dealt with tougher opponents than him”.

When asked if Conway’s assertion was accurate, Trump told the newspaper, “It’s okay”. “Attempting to say it “did a great service” to the president who Trump attacked is asinine”.

Clinton herself said Friday that Trump owes Obama and the American people an apology for his role in the birther movement that questioned the president’s citizenship. The theory was pushed by some bloggers who backed Clinton’s primary campaign eight years ago, but Clinton has said Trump “promoted the racist lie” that sought to “delegitimize America’s first black president”.
