A reflective Clinton returns to campaign trail after illness

In her return to the campaign trail after a bout with pneumonia, Hillary Clinton on Thursday said she did not want to take time off but that it turned out to be a “gift” that allowed her to reflect on the race.

Taking the stage at a Greensboro, N.C., rally to the tune of James Brown’s “I Feel Good”, Clinton called the days off she took after being seen collapsing over the weekend at a September 11 memorial “a gift” that most Americans can not afford. “Sitting at home was pretty much the last place I wanted to be”. She’s staying at her home in NY while her husband, former President Bill Clinton, and daughter, Chelsea Clinton, appear on the trail in her place.

Mrs Clinton continues to be dragged down by voters’ mistrust in her, but she still maintains more pathways than Trump to the 270 Electoral College votes needed to win the White House.

Amid questions about both candidates’ openness regarding their health, Trump released a new letter from his doctor detailing his blood pressure, cholesterol and medications.

For her part, Clinton is trying to make up for her wobbly appearance at a 9/11 event and pneumonia diagnosis. Mr Trump seized on this, saying it showed her contempt for voters. Forty-three percent said Trump’s running mate Mike Pence is prepared to serve as president, while 38 percent said the same of Democrat VP nominee Tim Kaine.

On Tuesday, while Clinton rested from the campaign trail, the Trump campaign faced questions from the media about why running mate Gov. Mike Pence of IN hesitated to apply the word “deplorable” to Ku Klux Klan leader David Duke.

She will deliver speeches in the coming days on the economy and national service, her campaign said. Voters say 68-31 percent that she has the right experience to be president and 65-34 that Trump does not have that experience. “I don’t think he should be president of the United States”, he continued.

The analysis shows Clinton has 43% of support from likely voters, Trump had 41% support, Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson had 9% and Green Party candidate Jill Stein had 3%.

Trump had another physical in recent days, and he went on the television set of celebrity doctor Mehmet Oz on Wednesday to disclose his new health records.

In her letter, Bardack wrote that Clinton was diagnosed with mild, non-contagious pneumonia and that she was in “excellent mental condition”.
