Mark Hunt vs. ‘Bigfoot’ Silva 2 Booked UFC 193 in Melbourne

Sources close to the contest confirmed to Fox Sports that verbal agreements are in place for the matchup. If the success of their first fight serves as any indication, Silva and Hunt will have the stadium rocking early and often.

A rumoured fight between New Zealand-born middleweight Robert Whittaker and perennial contender Michael Bisping has also been linked with the Melbourne event.

MMA Fighting.com is reporting that the UFC has targeted UFC 193 for the rematch, which will take place in Melbourne, Australia (due to the time difference the card will happen on November 15th there).

The Etihad Stadium can hold up to 60,000 spectators for concerts and other such events, which means that UFC 193 could potentially break the organisation’s 55,724 attendance record, which was set in Toronto in April 2011. Australia has been an incredible market for the UFC and to thank the Aussies for all of their support we are bringing the superstar of the welterweight division, UFC World Champion Robbie Lawler. Returning to the Octagon in May 2015 after a 14-month injury lay-off, Condit has catapulted himself back into 170-pound title contention.

Meanwhile, Hunt went on to KO Roy Nelson which earned him a late replacement interim title shot against Fabricio Werdum, but he wasn’t able to get his hands on the belt, losing out by second round TKO and has since also suffered a five round beating at the hands of Stipe Miocic.

Bisping (27-7) is no stranger to appearing on Australian shows.

An important middleweight has been added to what is set to a big pay-per-view in Melbourne, Australia. The presale will then extend to UFC 193: LAWLER vs. CONDIT microsite registrants and UFC newsletter subscribers, starting at 10 a.m. AEST on Wednesday, September 16.
