Pedestrians walk past buyers of new Apple products who have begun to camp outside the company’s flagship Australian store in Sydney, on Thursday, Sept. 15, 2016, on the eve of the iPhone 7 going on sale.
Given the kind of competition Apple faces in China from regional manufacturers, it’s quite crucial for the iPhone 7 to strike a chord with the populace. And, if you are looking for the jet black version of the iPhone 7, sit down, there is more bad news.
It’s still too early to cite any actual numbers, of course, but so far Apple’s latest iPhone seems to be a hit, if not one as far out of the ballpark as previous releases.
Due to high demand, the jet black iPhone 7 and all models of the iPhone 7 Plus are out of stock throughout much of the country, including Knoxville, and must be pre-ordered online or in a carrier store.
The big day is here: Apple is releasing the new iPhone 7 to the world, and crowds lined up early to be the first to own one.
But because of issues with Apple’s supply chain, it’ll be awhile before many customers can get their hands on the phone.
In New York, U.S.A Today reporter Eli Blumenthal tweeted this morning: “At the 5th Ave Apple Store with @edbaig for #iPhone7 launch”.
Even employees and officials who didn’t buy the iPhone 7 on time, will not be able to get it.
To hold them over Apple reportedly gave some people, including one man who told Mashable he’s been waiting in line for 23 days, $100 gift cards.
“As soon I can get it”, he says.
Bloomberg said that another factor that has clogged Apple’s supply chain is the sophisticated manufacturing process for the jet black colors of the iPhone 7.
The devices, which start at $649 for the regular iPhone and $749 for the supersized Plus model, will come with a headset that plugs into the Lightning Port, an Apple-designed jack that is also used for charging.

Buyers can still plug in headphones through the lightening port which will come with the new phone, but that could make charging your phone and keeping your buds connected hard.
