A cold front moving in from the northwest is expected to bring scattered thunderstorms and lower temperatures Monday afternoon.

The National Weather Service said thunderstorms will likely develop as the front moves through and some could turn strong or severe. It did note that wind gusts got up to 60 miles per hour in Gardner in Grundy County, and there were reports of flooding in the area. The difference now appears to be that we will see more clouds and less sunshine, meaning there is less heat and energy for severe thunderstorms.
There is a 70 percent chance of thunderstorms during the daytime Wednesday when it will be much cooler with a high of 77. Chance of rain is 30 percent.
The storms are most likely to produce large hail and damaging winds.
The main focus for strong to severe storms will be Tuesday afternoon into Wednesday morning.
The National Weather Service says to take shelter in a building or vehicle during the storm. Partly sunny, with a high near 89.

The high for Wednesday should be around 84 with a nighttime low of 65.
