Commenting on the survey, a MacRumor reader Blake points out that he got a query asking him whether he would make use of the headphone port on the MacBook Pro.

There are reports on Twitter from users how have been asked similar questions about the use of the headphone jack. Now, the company is surveying MacBook Pro users about how often they use the 3.5 mm port on their laptops. First spotted by Mac Rumors, this survey has inevitably sparked rumours of Apple getting rid of the 3.5mm headphone jack on its entire product lineup eventually. However, it is not yet confirmed if Apple will be totally removing the headphone jack, and keeping only the USB – C ports. According to reports, the next Apple product to go wireless could be the MacBook Pro.
It has been more than 480 days since the Retina MacBook Pro released in March 2015.
Apple has hinted that it may jack-off all over the MacBook, with numerous users being confronted with potentially worrying surveys in recent days. This development would emerge as a follow-up step by the Cupertino company after showcasing the unified Lightning port-equipped iPhone 7. Now the question is innocent enough, but given the removal of the headphone port on the iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, could there be more to this than we think?
As for when the MacBook Pro sans headphones may be released, Gotta Be Mobile has speculated – along with much of the rest of the tech blogosphere – that an October release date is likely. Other users who also received the survey about their MacBook posted it on social media with questions that even include battery life.

For many people the answer would be yes, but it’s good to know that Apple is at least quizzing its community of users before going ahead and making a change like that. The MacBook Air gives you a standby time up to 12 hours while the MacBook Pro gives you up to 9 hours of standby time. And will you purchase the new model or look at another brand?
