Forte, Fitzpatrick lead Jets past Bills in high-scoring AFC East affair
The Bills received the ball to start the second half and the Jets secondary burned them again, allowing a 71 yard touchdown to former Jet wideout Greg Salas. They were nearly doubled-up by NY in time of possession, had 16 fewer first downs and were outgained by 100 yards! Running back Matt Forte scored three times, and sealed the victory with a 12-yard run.

Fitzpatrick completed 24 of his 34 passes to throw for 374 yards as well. I even thought about it during the offseason: ‘I can’t wait to play the Bills again.’ Coming into the National Football League, I didn’t think there were any true rivalries like that.
The Buffalo Bills have reportedly fired offensive coordinator Greg Roman after just two games this season. Another said that if a team makes Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, 33, look like 4-time Super Bowl champ Tom Brady, 39, there’s something wrong. Though most of the issues last night were focused on a defense that couldn’t get the Jets offense off the field, Ryan figured that the offense was the bigger issue (or that he didn’t want to fire his brother).
He went 18 of 30 for 298 yards and three touchdowns and an interception.
Marquise Goodwin sprinted past Darrelle Revis down the right sideline to haul in an 84-yard touchdown pass from Taylor and vault the Bills in front 7-3 on just their second offensive play.
The Jets scored on each of their first four possessions to build a 20-7 lead.
NY also avoided its first 0-2 since 2007. By the start of the third quarter they were ready to get back to work.
This is the second time the Bills have been part of a social media broadcast experiment. The series ended on a five yard touchdown pass from Fitzpatrick to Eric Decker. Forte also caught two passes for nine yards.
Trailing six, the Bills worked their way to midfield thanks to a 24-yard run up the middle by McCoy.
The Bills did get a touchdown late in the fourth but it was too little too late.
“He was on the money”, NY receiver Brandon Marshall said.
Marshall was “fine” on Friday morning, according to Jets coach Todd Bowles, one day after suffering what Bowles thought was “maybe a slight sprain” of his left knee when he was pulled down from behind by his facemask by Bills cornerback Stephen Gilmore. Marshall immediately grabbed his knee and lay on the field for a few minutes before getting up on his own.
Enunwa’s Climb: Last season, WR Quincy Enunwa caught 22 balls in 12 games. Linebacker Erin Henderson also was having an MRI on his injured foot, Bowles said. But both LG James Carpenter and ILB Erin Henderson didn’t finish the game and are scheduled to get MRIs.

Fitzpatrick on Marshall returning to field: “I thought he was down for the count, for sure”. “We played, I mean, horribly today”. The Bills retired the No. 78 jersey number worn by Hall of Famer Bruce Smith, the NFL’s all-time sack leader, during a halftime ceremony.
