Father of driver Robby Gordon, his wife found dead in California home

What led to the deaths of Bob Gordon, 68, and Sharon Gordon, 57 “had not been ruled one way or another”, Orange County Supervising Deputy Coroner Kelly Keyes told USA TODAY Sports.
Sharon Gordon is not the birth mother of Robby Gordon.
Sharon Gordon was strangled to death and Robert Gordon died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound, according to the Orange Police Department.
“With respect to him and in his honour, both my [off-road racing] event in Costa Mesa will go on and Ryan Hunter-Reay, who is Becky’s husband, will continue on at Sonoma [IndyCar Series] this weekend”. Yet, no further details about the incident on what the motive or what triggered the father of the former auto racing star, to commit the heinous crime, have been released.
Authorities have not confirmed the relationship between Robby Gordon and the man and woman found in the home. There are also reports that a firearm was recovered at the scene.
Police do not believe a suspect is at large.
The couple were the father and stepmother of ex-NASCAR star Robby Gordon, who fought back tears and expressed disbelief Thursday outside the home on a Southern California hillside where he grew up and developed his love of racing.
NASCAR driver Dale Earnhardt Jr. was among those offering condolences, writing on his Twitter account he is praying for “the Gordon family during this hard time”. The story surrounding the incident is still incomplete, but Gordon is maintaining “the truth will come out”.
Tragedy has struck the family of Robby Gordon. The driver was also known for making 396 NASCAR Premier Series starts for 19 seasons. Known as “Baja Bob”, Gordon’s father was an accomplished off-road racer.
A six-time Cup champion, Johnson was a longtime friend of the Gordon family. He was a full-time driver early last decade and finished a career-high 16th in the points standings in 2003 driving for Richard Childress Racing.
