Microsoft Health App Renamed to Microsoft Band or Mysterious Reasons

Microsoft’s Program Manager for the Windows Insider Engineering Team, Jason, has posted a solution on Twitter.

The new version uses Microsoft’s Universal Windows Platform (UWP) format, which was introduced with Windows 10 and is meant to provide an architecture that works across Windows desktop and mobile devices. And this latest build-available now to Insiders on the Fast ring-gives us our first peek. It is the fifth update released in six weeks.

During the release of the Project Centennial, Microsoft executives confirmed that there were 16 million Win32 apps already out on the market, marking a major expansion of what the Universal Windows Platform can offer. A parallel Anniversary Update has been released for mobile, corresponding to build 14393.189. The porting tool is now available on the Windows Store and has been updated with support for three popular installer technologies; Flexera Software (InstallShield), FireGiant (WiX) and Caphyon (Advanced Installer).
