Nick Gordon found legally responsible for Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death
On Friday morning, Fulton County Superior Court Judge T. Jackson Bedford ruled Nick Gordon is civilly liable in her death after the late Brown’s boyfriend failed to appear in court for the second time, her estate lawyer R. David Ware said in a press conference. But, it seems, it’s only by default.

Because Gordon failed to appear in court twice, Bedford said anything the plaintiff alleged is admissible through omission. Gordon was sued by her estate that same August, alleging “assault, battery, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and transferring money from Brown’s account into his own without authorization”, according to 11 Alive.
Bobbi Kristina, the only child of Bobby Brown and the late pop singer, was found by Gordon and a friend face-down and unresponsive in the bathtub of her Georgia home on January 31, 2015.
Breaking news is that Nick Gordon has been found responsible for the death of his girlfriend, Bobbi Kristina Brown in July 2015. A jury trial will now be held to determine the amount of damages Gordon will be required to pay Brown’s estate. The family’s lawsuit asked for $50 million. An autopsy revealed that Brown had marijuana, alcohol, a cocaine-related substance, and morphine in her system.
However, the ruling does not mean the judge made any determination about Bobbi Kristina Brown’s death based on the facts of the case, said Page Pate, an Atlanta criminal defense attorney not involved in the case.
“You have to give account and Mr Gordon made a decision to thumb his nose at the court process and the court has finally said that he must pay”.
“I am pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings”, Brown tells PEOPLE in a statement. We intend to do that. “Today’s judgment tells me it was Nick Gordon”, Brown said in the statement. “Now I need to process all the emotions I have and lean on God to get me and my family through this”. Two attorneys representing him against any criminal allegations that may be filed said they were not involved in the civil case.

In that interview – which took place one year after Dr. Phil staged an intervention for the troubled young man on his show – Gordon admitted to the television host that he had ‘ignored this lawsuit and its consequences’.
