Star tight end Rob Gronkowski and starting left tackle Nate Solder have been ruled out with hamstring injuries after not making the trip with the team to Arizona on Friday.

Gronkowski said his injured hamstring, which dates to August 15 in training camp, continues to be bothersome to the point that he isn’t ready to guarantee he’ll play at University of Phoenix Stadium. Wide receiver Julian Edelman should be blanketed by Arizona cornerbacks Patrick Peterson and Tyrann Mathieu, so Bennett should have a chance to lead New England in Week 1 targets. “We’ll all get together and collaborate and see where I’m at”, Gronkowski said.
“I was just trying to whoop their [butt] all day”, Bennett said after the game, according to the Boston Herald. The only official hint that the Patriots are likely to give before the release of the inactive lists on Sunday is whether or not Gronkowski travels with the team.
The Patriots will be without Tom Brady, and they may be without their big tight end Rob Gronkowski.
“Gronk was limited in practice all week after injuring his hamstring a fortnight ago”.
The team confirmed Friday night that Gronkowski had been downgraded from questionable to out for the game.
But, as NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reported, it’s “no sure thing” that the NFL’s best tight end will be on the field when Sunday Night Football makes its premiere.

The Patriots released center Bryan Stork and placed right tackle Sebastian Vollmer on the physically unable to perform list at the end of camp.
