Jos Buttler ‘respects’ teammates’ decision to withdraw from Bangladesh tour over security
EOIN MORGAN and Alex Hales officially quit the Bangladesh tour last night, leaving England cricket chiefs angry and confused.

Morgan along with opener Alex Hales are the only members of England’s squad who have withdrawn from the upcoming tour of Bangladesh.
The players’ decision to opt out comes despite assurances from the England and Wales Cricket Board that adequate security measures would be in place. It will be lively during the one-day series, but for the Tests there will be more armed police and army than there will be spectators in all likelihood – that’s not the sort of atmosphere you want to be playing in. We’ve made fantastic progress under him.
The main question mark is over Morgan who gave his strongest hint yet on Thursday that he will stay home as he recounted how two previous scares had made him tired of ever jeopardising his personal safety again. So will the likes of Andrew Strauss and Colin Graves, who have rubberstamped the tour to proceed based on Reg’s advice.
Bayliss is said to be relaxed about Morgan’s stance and expects him to be in charge for the limited-overs matches in India in January, but Strauss has warned his captain that his place can not be guaranteed.
Andrew Strauss, the director of European Central Bank told media that the security of our players not only during Bangladesh tour but in all the other tour remain the priority of European Central Bank but these both individuals have made their decision and we respect her.
“A thorough and detailed risk assessment was approved and accepted by the ECB Board and the England players and management have been fully briefed on all aspects of the safety and security arrangements”, ECB said in a statement.
Buttler, who led England in a Twenty20 global against Pakistan previous year, added: “I am sure Eoin was expecting a lot of people to disagree with his decision”.
However, Morgan’s decision has drawn criticism from former England captains Michael Vaughan and Nasser Hussain, though the latter admitted he understood the decision. Croft never featured again and Caddick played only 12 more tests.
The team departs at the end of this month and will play three ODIs and two tests. And as the delay continued, it became clear that it won’t be good news as far as cricket fans are concerned.

However, Strauss insisted that it is “100% safe” to tour, after a delegation led by security advisor Reg Dickason, following a visit to Bangladesh, recommended that the tour should go ahead as planned. The players will have armed guards on their floor in the hotel and all staff will have background checks. That has changed because they need senior players in the squad now the captain is not going. It wasn’t easy, we were playing cricket at the same time so it was a distraction.
